About Helsinki-Malmi Airport
A former general aviation airport, now closed. It was Helsinki's main airport until Helsinki-Vantaa opened in 1952. Finavia ended its operations at the end of 2016 and the City of Helsinki closed the last runway on 14 March 2021; the airfield opened for public recreation in 2022 and the area is zoned for housing. Its 1938 functionalist terminal still stands.
